The first version of this book was published almost by
accident. While conducting research for my graduate thesis (in Geography,
centered on land use planning), I discovered an untapped passion for auto
racing. As it happens, there are many thousands of people in Southern
California who share in this passion and I have found a niche.
Where They Raced LAP2 is the first book dedicated to auto racing history
in Southern California, where more auto racing has taken place than any
other place in the world. Between the road courses, ovals, speedways,
and drag strips, there have been over 170 venues in this area. Where They
Raced LAP2 lists them all.
